David Silberbauer

VFX Artist at Sunrise Animation Studio

David Silberbauer is a VFX artist working at Sunrise Animation Studio, where they are working on exciting animation feature films and shorts. Davis is inspired by the procedural nature of Houdini and tries to incorporate this procedural mentality into my systems and workflows as much as possible.

Before Sunrise, he worked on movies including Monster Hunter, Deep Blue Sea 2 & 3, Black Beauty, and Escape Room, as well as numerous commercials and cinematics.

  • I had the pleasure of being David's Production Manager across two short-form films at Triggerfish Animation Studios. David was a treat to work with and worked strictly to schedule and priorities. David worked in the FX department as well as taking responsibility as our Set Dressing Lead. He accomplished all given tasks and was highly praised by his Lead and Supervising FX Artists. He worked in many calls alongside our directors to craft some of the most stunning sets and effects across both films. The shorts were fully CGI, VFX handled in Houdini and tracked via Shotrgrid, which David had zero concerns working with. David has a strong eye for detail and a very good understanding of the Production Process. He was always willing to accommodate other departments with FX and set requirements, as well as assist his fellow Artists where needed. He joined every call punctually with an attentive attitude and a smile on his face! David is a brilliant and accomplished Artist.
